fly-tipping is the illegal dumping of rubbish or bulky items on land not licensed to receive it source: DEFRA

FlytippingIt is a danger to the public and pollutes land and waterways. It’s unsightly and costs the council tax payer £150 million per annum to clear away.

However, with HomeNet’s Mobile CCTV, Local Authorities in conjunction with the Environment Agency can remotely capture the video evidence required to prosecute the offenders. The penalties are high, with the fines for fly-tipping up to £20,000 with a six month prison sentence. Also, vehicles that are used for fly-tipping can be seized by the police.
