HomeNet extends deployment capability with announcement of Iridium Satellite coverage HomeNet Communications has announced the addition of Iridium Satellite communications capability to its rural and remote unattended covert surveillance product family and the launch of its HNC700, 800 and 900 products. Customers now have the option of using Iridium satellite networks, GSM Cellular networks and WiFi 802.11 networks on a stand alone basis or in combination to serve their particular operational requirements. The HNC700 communicates to an operations centre using the iridium satellite network. The HNC700 has a standby power consumption of 150mW making it ideal for remote and unattended covert surveillance operations. The HNC700/800 has an internal 434MHz coded radio receiver that will accept authorised sensor activations up to 1Km line of sight from the unit. The HNC800 support GSM cellular, Iridium satellite and WiFi 802.11 communication networks. WiFi LAN is convenient for setup and configuration of the unit using a PDA or Laptop computer. The WiFi is also available for removing recorded media from the unit without compromising a surveillance operation or for accessing live video to access the threat before entering an area. The HNC700/800 has an internal 434MHz coded radio receiver that will accept authorised sensor activations up to 1Km line of sight from the unit. The HNC900 support Iridium satellite and WiFi communicates to an operations centre and will interface to any relay activated sensors.
